Whitehall Roman Villa dig completed

In 1996, archaeologists began the investigation of Whitehall Farm in Northamptonshire, England, and were pleased to find coins and pottery buried beneath the farmland. Now, in 2012, the Whitehall Farm Roman Villa and Landscape Project has been completed. (photo)

In 16 years, 250,000 artifacts have been found as well as a 30-room Roman villa, a roundhouse, bathhouses, and a Saxon cemetery, dating to the 6th century. In 2005, the site was part of the Time Team's Big Roman Dig on Channel 4.
