What to see at Hadrian's Wall

A world-class attraction at Hadrian's Wall is thrilled to have been awarded a Certificate of Excellence by travel review website Trip Advisor.
Housesteads Roman Fort and Museum underwent improvements earlier in 2012. And so some positive reviews have helped contribute towards the international Trip Advisor award.
The reviews gave the thumbs up to new museum displays and CGI film. People from as far away as Australia and New Zealand have visited the wall and posted reviews.  This shows that Housesteads is an important visitor attraction for people visiting the North of England.

Trip Advisor is the often a first stopping point when looking for days out. Housesteads got the Certificate of Excellence for consistently earning top ratings from contributors to the website. Trip Advisor says that the award is given only to the most "exceptional performers in Trip Advisor's global business community". This shows that Housesteads has maintained an overall rating of four out of a possible five. The award and ongoing success is a credit to the improvements being made by English Heritage and National Trust to make sure people who visit the area have a superb experience.

Sue Hodnett, site manager at Housesteads, said: "We are incredibly proud to have been recognised in this way by the people who contribute to the Trip Advisor website – it just goes to show that our visitors are enjoying a great experience when they come to Housesteads and the team here works hard to ensure this is the case.
"We know how important good reviews on Trip Advisor can be and how much people rely on the site when choosing where to go for a day out. We hope to welcome many more visitors to see our new museum, the incredible scenery and events across English Heritage's Hadrian's Wall sites this summer. The improvements to Housesteads will develop further later on this year when National Trust and Northumberland National Park begin work on the visitor centre and parking area at the bottom of the fort."
