Article: Should they Rebuild Pompeii?

Should they Rebuild Pompeii?

I have to start this report by saying I don't necessarily agree with the article I'm about to suggest you read. To be honest, having read it myself I don't know what to think. I was firmly educated in the school of conserving the past and leaving it as found, but as Simon Jenkins argues in this opinion piece for the Guardian newspaper, this approach may have failed at those most iconic of European ruins: Pompeii. I found the article thought provoking, even though some judgements - particularly an ill-conceived dig at the Second World War - strike me as unsafe.
