Prospect Archaeology are delighted to have been appointed by long-standing client Simons Group to manage the second phase of the archaeological works at the £60m Charles Street redevelopment in Dorchester town centre. This major mixed-use development will provide shopping anchored around a new Waitrose supermarket together with a library and adult education centre, a hotel and public spaces.

Prospect Archaeology will be working closely with Simons Group, their design team, English Heritage and the local authority to develop a strategy around minimising the impact of the development on this important Roman town.

Simons Group have worked with Prospect Archaeology and Nansi in particular for many years, completing around 17 schemes together. We're also currently working in Malmesbury and Newark for this important client.
